COVID-19 : 2020 SEASON UPDATE

In my last letter of 19th June I advised you that the Committee had reluctantly decided to abandon this year’s competitions and gave the reasons why.However I also mentioned that we would continue to closely monitor the situation and should circumstances permit consideration would be given to running some form of abbreviated competition later in the season. At the end of July the Committee reviewed this matter and it was abundantly clear that conditions had not sufficiently improved to enable anything to be organised so a line was finally drawn under any competition arrangements being made this season.

I also previously advised you that the Committee had decided that there will be no promotion/relegation this year and that the fixtures will be carried over to, and form part of, the 2021 season and can be fine-tuned as necessary at league entry time. The fees already paid will also be carried over and no changes will be made to the rates thereof, and any adjustment to the amounts paid can be made on the same basis.

With regard to this year’s Annual General Meeting the comments I previously made will form the basis of discussions to be held by the Committee at its October* meeting ( * to be held in some form or another at its usual time towards the end of that month - unless subsequently notified otherwise ). Further information will then be issued to all of the clubs as soon as possible thereafter.
